Stan Kwiatkowski, PhD, is a journalist, researcher, and multilingual political analyst specializing in Taiwan, China, and the broader Indo-Pacific. His work focuses on cross-Strait relations, Chinese political influence and propaganda, Taiwanese politics and society, human rights, transnational repression, and diaspora politics. He holds a PhD in Human Rights from the University of Sussex, where his research examined Uyghur diaspora advocacy, transnational political mobilization, Chinese human rights discourse, and transnational repression. His current research focuses on Taiwanese society and the impact of PRC political messaging and influence efforts, including how younger Taiwanese audiences respond to Chinese propaganda. Having lived in Taiwan for approximately 15 years and working fluently with Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese-language sources, he combines academic research with extensive first-hand knowledge of Taiwanese politics and society. He also works across Japanese, Russian, Polish, and English-language environments, allowing him to analyze political developments across linguistic and regional boundaries. His journalism and political analysis cover Taiwan and China, U.S. foreign policy, European diplomacy, Chinese influence operations, democratic movements, elections, protests, international security, press freedom, and geopolitical developments across the Indo-Pacific. His reporting has taken him from Taipei to Washington and Europe, combining on-the-ground coverage with research-driven analysis. Alongside breaking-news reporting and interviews, he produces original long-form political analysis for digital audiences and regularly translates complex academic and geopolitical issues into accessible commentary.

While the World Health Assembly meets in Geneva, Taiwan’s universal health coverage system is stealing the spotlight. Experts from Europe, Africa, South Asia, and the U.S. gathered to discuss global health equity—and Taiwan emerged as the unexpected star. With over 90% of attendees coming from outside Taiwan, this event proves one thing loud and clear: Taiwan can help, and the world is finally listening.
