I am an Istanbul-based freelance journalist with over 25 years of experience in reporting and editing. I began my career in 1998 as a court reporter for Milliyet, covering human rights, legal affairs, and politics. Over the years, I have worked for major Turkish newspapers and magazines such as Akşam and Tempo, specializing in in-depth features, conflict reporting, and interviews. My recent work focuses on press freedom, political repression, and social issues in Turkey. I contribute investigative pieces and commentary to independent outlets such as BirGün and Duvar. I also collaborate with international media, including German public broadcaster ZDF, on documentary and true crime productions. I am fluent in Turkish, German, and English, and have translated multiple children’s books from German to Turkish. I am particularly interested in stories that connect Turkey with Europe, human rights, migration, and conflict. Available for fixings, interviews, editorial assignments, and field reporting across Turkey.
