Salah Malkawi is a professional photojournalist based in Amman, Jordan, covering news across the Middle East. He has a professional experience spending more than twenty years covering stories focused on the humanitarian issues, refugees and environment as a contracted contributor for Getty Images. Salah has worked on assignments from around the Middle East for the most prestigious international publications, including The New York times, The Times, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, Stern, The National and many others. He has witnessed and covered a variety of top news in Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, Russia, and more. Salah also regularly provides images for a number of government and non-governmental institutions such as the European Union and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), UN, UNICEF, World Food Programme (WFP), and others. Salah has offered professional photography/photojournalism assistance and training to young journalists through programs funded by the United Nations Development Program and the European Union. Salah has been graduated as Cameraman/Photographer from Athens, Greece in 1990.
