Check FAQAbout Mona
Mona Lisa is a writer, editor and creative copywriter who specialises in captivating and informed copy across different mediums. Former contributing features editor for Hope Street Magazine, she has written for acclaimed publications The Skinny, Crave Magazine, The Guardian and Surface Zine. Mona Lisa has also worked with some of the biggest independent creative brands in Scotland, including Isolated Heroes, DIY Nails, Sara Hill Makeup and Abandon Ship Apparel, producing content and bespoke branding. As well as planning, designing, and facilitating tutorials and seminars, Mona Lisa has presented full lectures in subculture at Duncan of Jordanstone, a duty previously held by one of her biggest influences, Ted Polhemus. What makes Mona Lisa stand out is her process; with a Masters Degree in Design, she employs a self-developed research methodology devised from Service Design practises, mapping out and dissecting the topic, documenting the research, then reconstructing it for the task at hand. The end result is fully realised copy with depth, a richness of tone and informed conclusions. In a world of 'quick' content, it's the great content that stands out, and Mona Lisa's process was developed to provide clients with great content, quickly. When she's not too busy writing great content, Mona Lisa can be found dusting her massive library of books, zines and magazines, lighting candles at her altar to John Waters, being a crazy cat lady, living for Drag Queens and binge watching Korean Variety Shows. Mona Lisa is always on the hunt for new innovators in fashion, and anyone who can keep up with her encyclopedic knowledge of subculture.
