About Lino
Lino Atovura Michael Ginaba is one of the media alumni for the second batch at the Media Development Institute in South Sudan, who has impressive academic and professional achievements! 
His dedication to education and journalism is truly inspiring. He has a passion for making a positive impact through your work.
Lino is a dynamic journalist whose career began in 2017, marking the start of a journey dedicated to storytelling and the pursuit of truth in journalism has proven to the Country beyond the benchmark as a true inspirational storyteller.
Lino discovered his passion for media and communication at a young age, attending Yambio primary and secondary school. This hands-on experience fueled his desire to deepen his understanding of the field, leading him to enroll in a formal journalism course shortly thereafter. His becoming a senior reporter and correspondent for AMECEA, a regional media agency, is a testament to his hard work and dedication.
Ginaba's passion for journalism and peacebuilding has led him to achieve great things, including winning a grant of investigative reporting in 2024 from Info-Nile, and winning Excellency Awards in the same year 2024 on education Reporting from Union of Journalist of South Sudan. 
Atovura has also been awarded certificates in Media reporting on conflict and Peacebuilding in Nairobi by AMECEA and investigative Reporting by the United States Embassy in Juba, South Sudan.
He studied philosophy at St. John Paul Major Seminary in Yambio and holds an Advanced certificate of Journalism at the Media Development Institute (MDI). 
In 2023, Ginaba went to the Netherlands for a three-week media training on Digital Media to Counter Disinformation and Hate Speech by Radio Netherlands Training Centre. This shows his commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in his field.
