Lena Odgaard

Lena Odgaard is a senior communications consultant and journalist specialized in strategic communication and topics around migration, refugees, human rights and conflict reporting. She is based in Copenhagen but has a background in the Middle East, where she covered Israel and Palestine from 2011-2016 as a journalist for English and Danish language radio, TV, newspapers, magazines and online news sites.

Since 2017 she has worked with international NGOs in the area of strategic communication and media management including production of press releases, articles, and content for online platforms (web, SoMe, intranet). She has collected content from field trips to areas affected by war and/or conflict incl. Ukraine and neighboring countries.

A graduate of the Danish School of Journalism/Aarhus University in 2009 combined with courses at Columbia University in new media and conflict reporting, Odgaard is specialized in multimedia reporting and covering sensitive political areas.

In addition to a specialized knowledge of the West Bank, Gaza and Israel, Odgaard has also covered stories in Egypt, Bahrain, the UAE and Kenya. She has reported for France 24, FSRN, RFI, Monocle24, and the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) and Radio24syv (Danish), and her articles have been published in outlets such as Al Jazeera English, Al Jazeera America, and Al-Monitor.
