About Lameck
Lameck Nyagudi is a documentary photographer/fixer/translator based in Nairobi, Kenya.Began studying graphic design at Nairobits Digital school in 2004. For my last year I majored in photography.
In 2006 I worked as an intern at a Graphic design company, Nairobi, after completing my college.
On a day where I had very little to do, I sat in the office and paged through the Journals of James Nachtwey. In 2009,
I apply for the a Photojournalism and Documentary Photography Program at the Market photo workshop in Johannesburg South Africa.

From there my photography began to grow as more and more opportunities came my way.
Documentary photography became firmly planted in me from that point on as what I want to do with my life. I volunteer for NGOs like Media Focus on Africa Foundation to build my portfolio, hoping to break into the NGO field as a full-time photographer eventually.
For now I teach photography on part-time basis at Africa digital media institute ,work as a re-toucher at a commercial studio and as a freelancer fixer/Translator for local and international film crew and photographers on assignment. My cameras are never far from me.
