Kourosh Babaei

KOUROSH BABAEI
Born in 1971, Kourosh Babaei is a music producer, composer, and kamancheh player with over three decades of professional experience, specializing in music production for television and visual media.

He began his musical journey with the violin at age 12 before transitioning to the Persian instrument kamancheh, performing with renowned traditional ensembles and appearing in international concerts and festivals.

Recently, Kourosh has focused on producing and delivering high-quality music tailored for broadcast and video production teams. His work includes full-cycle music production from composition and arrangement to recording and final delivery designed to support storytelling across television programs, cultural events, and digital media.

From 2024 to the present, he has been responsible for music production for Nowruz and Yalda television programs on Voice of America Persian for three consecutive years. He also produced the music for the Yalda Night 2025 program on BBC Persian. In addition, he has produced music for numerous live events and festivals while organizing and performing in independent concert productions.

With a strong academic background in visual arts (B.A. in Graphic Design, Art & Architecture University, Tehran, 1994), Kourosh understands the relationship between sound and image, enabling effective collaboration with directors, editors, and producers in fast-paced production environments.

Since relocating to Canada in 2016, he continues to work as a music producer, performer, and educator, contributing original compositions and production services to a wide range of media projects.
