K.J. Matthews is an award-winning journalist with nearly two decades of experience in news and entertainment. 



A veteran of CNN, K.J. played a key role in shaping the network’s entertainment and breaking news coverage, developing content across CNN, CNN International, HLN, and CNN Digital. She contributed to live award show coverage, primetime specials, documentaries, and segments on top CNN programs like Anderson Cooper 360, The Situation Room, and Erin Burnett OutFront. K.J. also hosted a popular CNN digital entertainment show, showcasing her versatility and command of the Hollywood media landscape.


Before CNN, K.J. worked as a reporter, writer, and producer for ABC, CBS, and FOX-TV affiliates, covering landmark stories that influenced national discourse. She later joined the Emmy-winning show Extra, where she helped shape its arts and entertainment coverage, further expanding her media influence.


K.J.'s expertise extends globally, with her reports featured on the BBC News Channel, BBC World Service, DW English TV, and Sky TV UK.
