Kevin Lunzalu

Kevin Lunzalu is a freelance journalist based in Nairobi, Kenya. He specializes in covering environmental issues especially how communities are spearheading climate action. Kevin also has an interest sustainable agriculture, youth voices, ecological development, and peace issues. Through his work, he was awarded as the environmentalist of the year under the community awareness program of the Environment254 organization in 2015. In 2017, he was appointed to work for the Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN) where he documents grass root youth initiatives that halt the loss of biodiversity, and develops reports to be used during consultation meetings of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, by the GYBN. Kevin has also worked as an environmental Ambassador of CoalitionWILD, an international platform for young people who are actively engaged in ecological conservation where he actively sourced for stories on youth projects in Kenya. Kevin has done reporting in Kenya, Uganda, Egypt, Rwanda, and South Africa. He is happy to help in documentary production, blogging, research, media coordination, news gathering, project reporting, photography, profile interviews, feature stories, and social media management. Kevin is flexible, versatile, creative, energetic, and work can on other areas of interest to clients. He works in English and Swahili, with basic Luganda and Kinyarwanda.
