The Plateau State Ministry of Education has identified 412 out of 485 private schools with licenses that are not complying with government regulations. Education Commissioner Elizabeth Wapmuk has ordered all private schools to present themselves for assessment. Ezekiel Simput, speaking for the association of private schools, agreed to comply but requested more time. Usman Shehu Musa, a school owner, suggested that the government should first meet with the schools facing challenges. Information Commissioner Dan Manjang warned that non-compliant schools should seek other business as they will be closed. The government has vowed to publish the names of compliant schools in Nigerian journals, and those not listed will have their licenses revoked.
