IBES 2024: 572 field officers are to collect data in the Volta region
The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) is training 572 field officers for the 2024 Integrated Business Establishment Survey (IBES) in the Volta Region. The survey aims to collect updated data on all businesses in Ghana to aid policy-making and development. The training began on January 8 and will end on January 13, with data collection starting on January 8 and lasting four weeks. The survey will cover various business types, including mobile, open-space, and establishment businesses, and will be conducted in two phases: a census of all businesses and a sample survey. Dr. Johnson Ahiadome and Louis Tobo emphasized the survey's importance for understanding the economy and addressing unemployment, urging field workers to collect accurate data using Computer-Assisted Personal Interviews (CAPI).
