Vala Hafstað is a journalist, based in Reykjavík, Iceland. She is completely bilingual and writes equally well in English and Icelandic. She worked for Iceland Review Online, first as a journalist, then as the web editor. She also wrote a number of articles for the magazine Iceland Review and served as its managing editor from April through September 2017. Vala has written numerous articles, in English as well as Icelandic, and published two poetry books. The first book, published in 2014, is in English (News Muse: Humorous Poems Inspired by Strange News), the second one, published in 2018, is bilingual (Eldgos í aðsigi/Imminent Eruption). She has recently written articles for the magazine Icelandair Stopover.
