Cameroon: a visual artist paints the world's fragility in the face of coronavirus
Cameroonian visual artist Alioum Moussa, from his small studio in Yaoundé, reflects on the world's fragility amidst the coronavirus pandemic through his art series 'God and the Masks'. The series, influenced by misinformation about the virus, explores themes of blindness and vulnerability, with over a hundred works created since the outbreak began in Cameroon. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, including downsizing his studio space and relying on graphic design for income, Moussa continues to create art that serves as a beacon of hope, as noted by fellow artists and art administrators.
