Lobsang Wangyal is a journalist based in Pāhoa, Hawai'i, United States of America. He moved to US two years ago from McLeod Ganj, India, and made Hawai'i his new base. He started working as a journalist right after completing his BA in 1994. His works have been published in local, national and international newspapers and magazines over the years. He worked as the stringer for AFP, sending them stories and photos from McLeod Ganj, India, from 2001 until he left McLeod Ganj in January 2022. His online newspaper, the TibetSun.com that he started in 2008 was the go-to news and views portal for the exile Tibetan community, as well as for those who follow the Tibetan issue globally. The website was closed down in August 2021 due to political and social pressures.
