About Jean-Rovys
Jean-Rovys Dabany is a Videojournalist. Former video journalist at AFP/Reuters in Dakar (Senegal) and Gabon. I'm based in Libreville.
I am an Image Reporter Journalist (JRI) based in Libreville, Gabon. Since 2010, most of my reporting has taken place in West and Central Africa, where I have covered the Senegalese elections won for the first time by Macky Sall, the Central African crisis (the departure of François Bozizé from power ousted by the Seleka rebels), but I also carried out numerous missions in Equatorial Guinea (coverage of the CAN 2015), in Chad, in Cameroon.

I love covering people who disrupt the system: rebels and revolutionaries. My work has been published, among others, in worldwide press groups such as the prestigious Reuters,m and Agence France-Presse (AFP TV).

I also teach journalism to students at the University of Libreville and the Grandes Ecoles and I often run training courses for journalists working in local media. I am passionate about African stories (rebels, dictatorship, corruption…).

I am fluent in French and working on my English.
