Ceará uses strategy adopted in Brumadinho to contain oil expansion

In response to a series of attacks in Fortaleza and surrounding areas, 19 police officers from Pernambuco have been deployed in Ceará, joining forces with 100 military personnel from the Bahia Shock Battalion and 406 members of the National Force. Security agents from Piauí and Santa Catarina are also contributing to the efforts. The Security and Social Defense Secretariat of Ceará reported that 239 individuals have been arrested for involvement in the crimes since January 2, with 24 arrests made between 9 AM and 6 PM on January 9.

The reduced fleet is operating with police onboard for security, and the lines are being released based on the availability of security agents. Sindiônibus director of operations, João Luís Marciel, stated that the transportation companies are ready to operate normally as long as security can be ensured.
