The food provided is often not nutritious, and students have resorted to begging on the streets. The situation has deteriorated over the years, with bathing done in open spaces, compromising privacy. The school receives about N1.3 million monthly for feeding, with assistance from various sources including the government and NGOs. The state's education commissioner has acknowledged the issues and promised to investigate.
