I am a science journalist with nearly 20 years of experience. Over the years, I have collaborated with some of Italy’s most prominent science and culture media outlets, including Le Scienze—the Italian edition of Scientific American—and Mind, a magazine dedicated to psychology and neuroscience from the same group as Le Scienze. I also write about science for Lucy – Sulla conoscenza, Il Tascabile, and Il Post. My areas of expertise include psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, and mental health. I also have extensive experience communicating topics related to astrophysics, cosmology, and the history of science. I hold a degree in psychology, a PhD in cognitive sciences, and a master’s degree in science communication. I am also the coauthor of the book Trieste and Science. Until now, my work has primarily focused on Italian media outlets, but I am now looking to expand my collaborations internationally. My written English proficiency is at a C2 level, enhanced by extended periods spent abroad, allowing me to write fluently and effectively for an international audience. In addition to writing, I am a seasoned podcaster with significant experience in podcast production, writing, and hosting. I have a strong background in science fact-checking and some experience in data journalism. I also possess basic skills in video interview production.
Portfolio
This is one of the podcasts I wrote and produced. In this 8-episode series, I explored, with the help of international experts, the behind-the-scenes of scientific research, delving into the publication process and the underlying logic of how scientific knowledge is produced today. Adopting a journalistic approach accessible even to non-experts, I covered various topics such as peer review, how the scientific publication system operates (including its economic aspects), open access, archives, preprints, and more. Despite being a niche topic, the podcast achieved significant success, reaching national podcast charts.
This is a book I coauthored, dedicated to the last 200 years of the history of science in the city of Trieste, which today is a major international science hub. Trieste hosts two universities, two UNESCO Science Centers, and several research institutes and major facilities, including a synchrotron ring. This unique story is told through the lives of nearly 80 individuals who have lived and worked in the city, starting from its time as a key port of the Habsburg Empire, through the dramatic periods of the First and Second World Wars, the Cold War—when Trieste was situated on the Iron Curtain—up to the present day.

This is a recent example of one of my medium-form online articles for Le Scienze. It focuses on the evolution of color vision and includes an interview with the author of the study featured in the piece.
This is an example of one of my recent feature articles for Le Scienze. Both Le Scienze and Mind are primarily print magazines, so unfortunately only a portion of the articles published in them is available online. In this particular long-form piece, I explored the topic of adult ADHD, conducting extensive interviews with international experts and patient associations.
