An unidentified attacker killed a guard of the Albanian television station Top Channel outside the Big Brother house in Tirana. The guard, Pal Kola, aged 60, was shot with automatic weapons by three men who fled the scene in a Range Rover, later found burned on the highway to Kavala. The attack is not believed to be politically motivated. High state officials and the regulatory body for electronic media condemned the attack as a strike against democracy and freedom of speech. A manhunt was organized throughout the night in Tirana. Blerjana Bino from the SafeJournalists Network in Albania called for swift action to investigate the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice, expressing condolences to Kola's family and solidarity with the Top Channel community.
