Voices continue to be raised calling for peace to return once and for all to the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where insecurity is growing as a result of the war between the FARDC (Forces armées de la RDC) and the M23, supported by Rwanda. This insecurity is exacerbated by the regular proliferation of armed groups. This time it's the NGO EQUASUT (Eau de qualité et en quantité suffisante pour tous), one of the civil society structures working in the environmental field, which has stepped up to the plate. The organization, which has its national headquarters in Kikwit, an economic and political city in the south-western province of Kwilu, called on the international community to "take concrete action" to bring about lasting peace.
More than 60 people have already died in the Panzi health zone, located in Kwango province, over 600 kilometers from Kinshasa in the southwest of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), due to an as yet unidentified disease. Apollinaire Yumba, Minister of Health for Kwango province, who provided this information, pointed out that the provincial government had already dispatched a team of health specialists to the site to take samples to be sent to the Institut National de Recherche Biomédicale (INRB) for in-depth examination and identification of the disease in question.

The new government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), unveiled on May 29, 2024, now has 55 members, including 17 women ministers and the Prime Minister herself. This makes a total of 18 women, a percentage of 32.7%. This is the first time in the country's history that more than 30 percent of the members of a national or provincial government are women. The new government was unveiled six months after the re-election of Felix-Antoine Rshisekedi Tshilombo as President of the Republic for a second five-year term.

Il s’agit de la première tranche sur un total de 325 millions que ce pays doit à la RDC. En effet, la Cour internationale de justice (CIJ) avait condamné, en février 2022, l’Ouganda à verser ce montant au Congo suite à ces dommages
