Alberto Maio is a journalist, producer and videomaker based in Bologna, Italy. He reported from China, Lebanon, India, Ukraine, Senegal, Tanzania, Nepal. He produces and hosts a daily news program on the regionale tv 7Gold. Holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Bologna in Public Communication and a master's degree in Social Communication. In 2018 he produced, filmed, written and directed the reportage "#ACasaLoro", about Voluntary Repatriation between Italy and Senegal: ****** (Eng sub) Since 2006, he has been covering major criminal and political news every day in Emilia-Romagna for the national network 7 Gold. His daily news/interviews program is named "Aria Pulita" and can be found here: ******. Has freelanced as a producer/fixer/translator for the BBC and as a videomaker for the national newscast "TgLa7" ****** and for the Rizzoli multimedial department (RCD). His reportage "Bologna. The number of families living on the streets is increasing" was short listed by the XIX edition of the journalistic award "Ilaria Alpi". His documentary "Giovani Dentro: Journey in the juvenile prison planet" was shortlisted by the XIV edition of the journalistic award "Ilaria Alpi" and by the IV edition of the journalistic award "L'anello debole". In 2014 he's made a reportage from the border between Lebanon and Israel. Went there as an embedded reporter with the italian army involved in the United Nations Interim Force (UNIFIL). In 2016, the Italian Ministry of Interior funded 5 assisted voluntary repatriation projects for around 3,000 migrants. I went to find one of them. This is the story of Ibrahim.
