Jason Parkinson is a freelance news, feature and documentary video journalist based in London, United Kingdom, covering crime, politics, protest, public order, refugees, the far right, unrest and conflict, terrorism, natural and manmade disaster and extreme weather. My news, feature and documentary work has covered the UK, USA, Egypt, Turkey, Mexico, Russia, Greece, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Spain, Germany, France, Italy and Ireland. In 2011 I was nominated a finalist in the Rory Peck Awards for news for coverage of the Egyptian Revolution and in 2012 for news coverage of the London Riots. I have also worked writing news, features and comment articles for newspapers and magazines, including Guardian, Sunday Herald, The Journalist, the Big Issue and worked as a writer and ghost writer on two novels between 2001 and 2007.
