Israel Rafalovich is a journalist based in Brussel, Belgium. CURRICULUM VITAE Name: Israel Rafalovich Born: 11. November, 1946 in Germany. Education: Elementry School - Akko, Israel Secondary School - Akko, Israel Graduation - 1964 School of Journalism, Tel Aviv, Israel 1965/1966. Experience: During my studies at the School of Journalism in Tel Aviv, I worked as a reporter for the Israeli weekly magazine "Bull" in north Israel and as a sport reporter for the newspaper "Maariv" in Akko until August 1967. On December 4th,1967, I moved to Germany, where I completed my journalism studies at different newspapers, radio and TV companies. I then moved to Bonn, where I became correspondent of Swiss and Austrian dailies from 1969 until the end of 1972. In 1973, I left Bonn after receiving an offer from two German daily newspapers to be their correspondent in Tel Aviv from 1973 until 1980. On January 1981 I moved to Brussels, Belgium, where I covered politics, diplomatic affairs and military as well as economic subjects. I was based in Brussels until 1984. On January 1985 I was asked by my German newspapers to return Israel where I stayed as correspondent until June 1989. On July 1989 I was asked to move to Washington,DC as correspondent for different publications. I was based in Washington until June 2005. From July 2005 until June 2007 I was based in The Hague, The Netherlands, where I covered the international courts and European affairs. Since July 2007 I am based in Brussels for different publications and cover European affairs and the European institutions. Languages: English, German, Hebrew.
