Istanbul-based correspondent, with 15 years of experience in audio journalism, longform writing and breaking news. Durrie Bouscaren's work regularly airs on National Public Radio, The World from PRX, and a range of leading international shows and podcasts. She also writes for Archeology Magazine. Bouscaren is known for her expertise in breaking news coverage, live radio hits, and longform investigative storytelling. She was among the first foreign reporters on the ground after Turkey's devastating 2023 earthquakes. Her recent work includes coverage of leading activists in Iran's Woman, Life, Freedom movement -- as well as a deeply reported series following the stories of children medically evacuated from Gaza. Fluent in Turkish (C2 CEFR level) and conversational in French, Bouscaren is a member of both the Association of Independents in Radio (AIR) and the Foreign Media Association of Turkey (FMA). Her background includes reporting for local NPR member stations in the United States, providing her with deep experience in both domestic and international news environments. A graduate of the S.I.
