About Dieter
Dieter Reinisch is a journalist based in Vienna, Austria. In recent years, he has reported from major political and cultural events in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Czechia, Bosnia, Serbia, Belarus, France, Belgium, Denmark, England, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Cyprus, Lebanon, and Turkey for international news outlets. He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Austria's leading foreign policy magazine, "International," and as a Board Member of the Austrian Journalists' Club. He is a member of the National Union of Journalists (UK & Ireland) and the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ).

Starting as a newspaper journalists after years in academic research, his writings appeared in the Washington Post, Neue Zuericher Zeitung, Belfast Telegraph, Irish News, Irish Examiner, Times Higher Education, RTÉ, Village Magazine (Ireland), ORF, Profil (Austria), Der Standard (Austria), Die Presse (Austria), Die Furche (Austria), Neues Deutschland (Germany), among others. He works as an Austria, Ireland, and UK correspondent for the German newspaper junge Welt and as the Europe correspondent for Oxus TV and Press TV. His expert opinions regularly appear on Al Mayadeen, Al Sharqiya and Al Iraqia.

His radio programmes and expert interviews were aired on the Austrian public radio oe1, Radio Orange, and the German public radios RBB, WDR and DLF-Kultur. In addition, he worked as a consultant and expert on Irish and British politics for the BBC and Deutsche Welle.

He holds a PhD in Contemporary History from Europe’s leading research institute, the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy. He also holds a Master of Research (MRes) from the same institution and a Magister from the University of Vienna.
