Starting as a newspaper journalists after years in academic research, his writings appeared in the Washington Post, Neue Zuericher Zeitung, Belfast Telegraph, Irish News, Irish Examiner, Times Higher Education, RTÉ, Village Magazine (Ireland), ORF, Profil (Austria), Der Standard (Austria), Die Presse (Austria), Die Furche (Austria), Neues Deutschland (Germany), among others. He works as an Austria, Ireland, and UK correspondent for the German newspaper junge Welt and as the Europe correspondent for Oxus TV and Press TV. His expert opinions regularly appear on Al Mayadeen, Al Sharqiya and Al Iraqia. His radio programmes and expert interviews were aired on the Austrian public radio oe1, Radio Orange, and the German public radios RBB, WDR and DLF-Kultur.
