Christian Yari Schembri

Christian Yari Schembri is a journalist based in Rome, Italy. Into movies and television since 1993 and member of official Italian Union AITR (Italian camera operator) & AIC Imago associated member (Italian Society of Cinematographers). 

He is a French Italian AITR Camera operator based in Rome. He graduated from the French School "Lycée Chateaubriand" and then after his high school degree, he attended the Italian film school "cine TV Roberto Rossellini" of Rome as a "camera operator". He speaks 2 mother tongues (French and Italian), and he also knows Spanish and English with a pretty fluent level because he moved to Toronto, Canada after completing a master course in "photographic languages" at the "Mifav-torvergata" Rome university. His "images and film" studies have gone through several European professional diplomas like "photographer", "multivision art creator" or complementary courses that have improved his skills like "CRO Drone Pilot", "Steadicam Operator", "Editing", or other certifications like "BLSD", "lifeguard" or "Diving instructor" useful for Scuba Film. He began his career very young, before the digital era, where the best and real Italian school was the artisanal way of working. C.Y.S. was born in Rome. He is the son of parents who came to Italy as refugees after the French decolonization. He has worked as a loader or camera assistant with film in movies or advertising. He became a camera operator in 2000 for many documentaries, reportage, concerts, or music TV shows using Steadicam also. He has collaborated with the Water Sport Federation (FIN FIPSAS CMAS LEN) as a videographer or director and made various documentaries for TV as a cinematographer. 
Currently, he continues to write and produce documentaries or work as a Camera Operator, using drone and scuba skills for Italian and international movie productions, skills also used for TV programs (live or series).
