Chika Okeke

Chika Okeke is a seasoned journalist based in Abuja, Nigeria. She is currently the Publisher/ Editor of ****.  
Okeke's niche for indepth reporting and analysis led to the establishment of ****, an online news platform.  
She joined the services of LEADERSHIP Media Group in 2008 as a Reporter where she rose through the ranks as a Senior Reporter to Deputy Editor Daily, Deputy Editor LEADERSHIP Sunday and Deputy Editor, LEADERSHIP Friday.  
During her sojourn in LEADERSHIP Media Group, she covered the activities of FCT Area Councils, Ministries of Tourism and National Orientation, Works & Housing, and Environment.  
With over ten years of experience in journalism, she was able to explore various reporting and writing techniques such as feature writing, editing, investigation and editing, with over over 1000 publications to her credit.  
Okeke has covered workshops and conferences, both in Nigeria and abroad, including the 22nd edition of Conference of Parties (COP22) to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) in Marrakech, Morocco in 2016.  
Due to her indepth reports on Environmental issues and Climate Change, Okeke was selected to participate in the 2021 Virtual Reporting Tour (VRT) on Combatting the Climate Crisis through US Innovation, organised by Foreign Press Centers (FPC), U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Global Public Affairs.  
At the end of the virtual tour, Okeke emerged Best Overrall with the highest number of stories and also secured third place for constant attendance. The programme featured 50 journalists from 39 countries including Nigeria.  
She was the Treasurer, Environment Media Correspondents Association of Nigeria (EMCAN), member Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and member, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ).  
Okeke's hobby is research, cooking and travelling, having pitched her tent in the then Ministry of Tourism and National Orientation,
