Amindeh Blaise Atabong is an award-winning multi-talented journalist with intrinsic passion for investigative reporting, based in Yaounde - Cameroon. With over 10 years of experience in print, radio broadcast and multimedia, he has uncovered and reported many ground-breaking stories. Among his notable works was a story about security officials’ collusion with a phony Red Cross agent who fleeced university students out of millions of francs, for which he won an award from the British High Commission in Cameroon in 2016. Also same year, Amindeh covered the ultimately successful struggle of Nigeria’s University of Maiduguri to repel Boko Haram militants from the start of their insurgency in 2009 until December 2016. Amindeh has also traveled to the Central African Republic to report on the smuggling of conflict diamonds from there through Cameroon. In addition to independent regional outlets, Amindeh has written for respected Western news organizations, including Reuters, Quartz, Semafor, dpa - Deutsche Presse-Agentur and Equal Times, and has been a fixer for CNN and BBC. Amindeh is the founding president of the Association of Combined Action to Protect and Empower Journalists (ACAPEJ).
