Alain Patrice AHIMOU is a journalist based in Accra, Ghana. I am Ivorian and have been a journalist since 2007. I trained in political journalism at the French correspondence school EDUCATEL after studying law for two years. I have worked for the leading Ivorian daily newspaper Fraternité Matin, in the Prime Minister's Office, and in the African subsidiary of the French audiovisual group ELEPHANT called ELEPHANT AFRICA, not to mention numerous collaborations, notably with the Ivorian investigative magazine ELEPHANT DECHAINE and internationally for ALJAZEERA. I am currently the founder and editor-in-chief of the Ivorian digital audiovisual citizen media outlet MICRO LIBRE. I am living in exile in Ghana following an investigation that led to 20 people being imprisoned, including all those involved. I was warned in time, otherwise I would have been the number one target of the justice system. I work in print media, online media, and audiovisual media (video writing, video editing, voice-overs). I enjoy investigative journalism, but I also cover current affairs and documentaries. I am comfortable with political, environmental, social, and human rights issues. I have been admitted to the 2025 cohort, West Africa, of the MEDIA IN COOPERATION AND TRANSITION (MICT) programme.
